Two paths – one project

You are cordially invited to explore the town on the Gescher History Trail and the Gescher Planet Trail. Both trails largely follow the same route. The circular trail runs along everyday roads and paths for about six kilometres from Haus Hall through the inner city area with the city park to the green belt bordering the north-east in the Berkelaue. The trail is freely accessible at all times and marked with signs. Another historical station can be found seven kilometres south in the Hochmoor district.

Forces and connections are at work in the cosmos. Infinite expanses have always aroused a thirst for knowledge, and today more and more can be explained by science. Without the sun's energy, the Earth would be nothing more than a cold rock, and without the Earth, the sun's energy would dissipate into space.

The cosmos is also a metaphor for living together in a city. On the Gescher History and Planet Trail, everyone can feel historical and spatial connections and recognise links. The trail connects people of different ages, people of different origins, people with different experiences and orientations, people with and without disabilities.

The Gescher History and Planet Trail

-Provides information about the town's history and the planetary system
-Combines physical activity and education
-Is also accessible to people with disabilities and limitations

One path leads to another: when curiosity is aroused, imagination can unfold.
